Corelle Plates

I love love LOVE these plates! Okay, it’s more the pattern on the plate than the plates themselves. My mother had some Corelle plates while I was growing up. They were okay in the country-farm-blue kitchen, with their little gingham checks around the borders. After ten years, she traded them in for some white Corelles with scalloped edges. Now, from firsthand experience, I know it IS possible to break a Corelle plate, but overall, they are incredibly durable. Now that I am a mother, I am considering the idea of having my mother’s plates. In the below pattern, of course

Ahh, yes, the Suite Life! Didn’t I tell you that this style is trés chic?! As a proud owner of CS3, I can concur, it’s WONDERFUL!

This ad has two things going for it:
1: it is using rays in the background, which are still on trend and
2: it is using the 70s rainbow organic style that is so big right now.

Logo Lounge has published their 2008 Logo Trends! I’ve been patiently awaiting it A great read for anyone involved in logo creation.

Adobe

I JUST NOW got my email from Adobe for the May events. I usually really like what they do. Adobe and Apple both can be counted on to show simple, clean, effective ~and sometimes pretty~ design. It’s too bad I can never convince marketing that less really is more… GGRRR!

“HOT” Plates…

If you have to advertise to the world that you are “hot” on your license plate, clue in: You’re probably not…

I passed a car this morning with “HOT GRL” on the tag. I was thinking, “she must be pretty and awfully full of herself!” Until I passed the car… Maybe the pretty girl loaned her car to an ugly roommate… The woman that I passed was neither hot nor a girl… She was late 30s/early 40s, in desperate need of a hair cut and make-up.

I love creative and clever vanity plates… I love vanity plates that help a cause or a charity… I don’t like people who lie!! I’ll be happy when I see one that says “UGGO.”

^ Case in point… Maybe this plate would be more fitting if it wasn’t on a 3-series! And if the car was parked correctly! Loser…

Trendy New Art Style

I was out scouring the web for some new ideas {don’t you hate it when you work for three days on a cutting-edge design, get it approved by the boss, and then find out that it’s strikingly similar to something else that he just happened to get in the mail THE SAME DAY HE APPROVED IT?!} ~sigh~ Anyway, I think this is something of note. I really like the collage-feel of the art, as well as the rainbow-nature of it. I got these bits from Agency Scoop.

Un-inspired…
